    How short are you ladies?

I am a newbie here. I am not really new to riding but I am new to the CBR World Big Smile [:D]. I've done 2 trackdays so far and looking forward to doing many more. Some of the ladies that post here seem to be small like me Big Smile [:D] I was just wondering how short everyone is and if so, is your bike lowered or stock.

I'll start: I'm 5'0" and my bike has been lowered. I am not sure how much because I bought it already lowered. I can almost flat foot it which is more than enough for me. [Y]

BTW, can I post a picture in here?

I am 5'3" with a 29 inch inseam and ride a lowered 2000 F4, lowered 3 inches in the back and 1 1/2 in the front.  I am still on the "balls" of my feet but I am within my comfort level.

I'm 5'3" and have no problems on my 94 F2. As far as I know it's never been lowered. i can also touch ground comfortably on my b/f Sin's 00 F4.

Re: How short are you ladies?

I'm 5'1" and on the balls of my feet with my '94 CBR600 F4. I am still new to the bike, and I'm waiting to see how comfortable I get with the height as is - every time I get on it feels better, so I'll probably leave it. The guy who owned it before me was over 6', and I could probably lower the suspension a bit, but we'll see how I get on.

    The bike used to feel huge and so so heavy, but with more practice it seems lighter and more nimble -- or maybe it's just all in my head?! ;-}

4'11 and a little bit... I have an f4i...it's lowered about 2.5 inches...I can only reach with the balls of my feet...but I plan to raise the bike up a little bit after I am more comfortable...

wish I could fit on a 600 rr tho :D

Re: How short are you ladies?

Wow I feel like an amazon! I'm 5'6 and I think I need to lower my 2000 F4 as I have trouble backing the bike up due to little contact with the ground. Any ladies here near my height who have any trouble?

Re: How short are you ladies?

LMAO  I was thinking the exact same thing... "OMG I'm a giant!"

I'm 5'6" too.  My bike is a 2001 929 and I bought it used for my husband in 2002.  I THINK I remember them saying it was lowered 1 inch.  I've since taken over the 929 when I got him the new 1000 last year.

I touch flat footed with a very slight bend at the knee.  The only time I have problems backing it up is when I'm trying to back up any sort of a hill or incline.  Even a slight one makes it VERY difficult for me.  I will usually back into the parking space if there appears to be any slope whatsoever, because one time... I pulled straight into a space, and when it came time to get out, I couldn't move my bike!!  I was getting more and more embarassed... the asphalt was slippery with oil and grease and I was doing a 22-point-turn to get out.

Re: How short are you ladies?

I am so jealous, I think I will have to lower my '00 F4. I can only set the ball my foot down, you must have longer legs than me. I've heard that lowering a bike cuts the turning radius way down, any opinion on that?

I saw on another post a comment about SC. I was born in Charleston and was just down there for the 4th of July I hope I get to move back one day.

Re: How short are you ladies?

I don't know about the turn radius thing, but I believe it.  I've never ridden my bike without it being lowered, but I can't do tight turns.  A lot of it is probably operator error, but who knows.

I work in Charleston and live in Goose Creek... for another 4 weeks.  Then I'm OUTTA here for good!!  LOL  Big Smile [:D]   The current Charleston news is the HUGE hubbub over the new Cooper River Bridge.  It's open now... today was the first work day you could drive on it... lots of confused drivers out there, going in lanes they didn't wanna be in, etc.  I just came back from an errand in Mt. P and I love travelling the new bridge!!  4 lanes EACH way.  It's so smooth and you totally feel like you're on a regular highway... not a rickety, clacking old bridge.

Re: How short are you ladies?

With any bike (from what I have heard) if you lower the front especially, it lowers the centre of gravity and it tends to dip down into corners better.  My husband loves riding my F4 because of how well it corners. Gotta watch those speed bumps though, I have bottomed out on a few before OOPS! lol

Re: How short are you ladies?

HAHA, o my, ME TOO.  I'm 5'5, and I feel like I need to lower my 02 f4i, but I heard that it messes with the suspension.  Do you have any tips on backing up?  I have the HARDEST time and a lot of the times, I have to get off my bike and push it.  :(

Re: How short are you ladies?

I am 5'2" and lowered my 05 f4i.  I had too since I couldn't reach at all the floor.  It rides fine to me...although I have not been doing any amazing riding or tight turns or anything like that.  I pretty much ride to enjoy my bike...not too show up...you know...  But it does rides well....my friends at work call it the "low-rider"...hahahaha

Re: How short are you ladies?

I'm 5'0", my bike was lowered 3" in the rear, forks 2", and custom "scooped out" seat gave me another 1".  Still not flat foot, scared of what I will do when my '91 just won't live to ride again...  Stock seat heights have gone up in the last decade from my F2...  [8-)]
