posted this over on RR.net but figured i'd cross post it here for anyone who doesnt visit that site
first off before I get into my long winded post a huge thanks to 600RR.net member
homerjay4242 for hooking me up with this kit. I've already said enough good stuff about him on a thread in the General Discussion so to avoid anymore head swelling i'll just jump right in.
The install is very straight forward but somewhat time consuming if you are like me and want a very clean install! When it comes to wiring I like things to be neat and tidy so my buds and I took the time to do a nice clean install to make the bike look as stock as possible (thanks for the help guys)...other than the lights themselves there are no real indications that there is a HID kit onboard unless you looked over the bike VERY carefully..
heres the kit
First off take out the stock bulbs and put the HID bulbs in place. With this particular kit there is a small rubber seal containing four wires leading up to the bulb...2 go direct to the bulb and two are to plug into the stock wiring harness. Put a nice clean slice and pull the two wires that connect to the harness out of this rubber seal as they are useless there.
here is the HID plugged into the stock wiring harness. Positive wire on the stock setup is the STRIPED wire. I taped this up with electrical tape afterwards to guard it from water and other elements
here is the RIGHT SIDE ballast mounted.
NOTE: on all ballasts and Ignitors I used BOTH double sided tape and zip ties
**In order to put the ballast here you will LOOSE your tool storage. I removed the tool box completely as 95% of the time I end up riding with a backpack so I always have my tools in there anyway so for me it was not an issue
Here is the location of the RIGHT SIDE Ignitor fastened to the air intake tube.
Photo of the RIGHT SIDE complete with both ballast and ignitor fastened and ready to go
Photo of hte Right Side all back togehter...look Ma no signs of HID's
Another shot of it all back together..tired to make it look as clean as humanly possible
On to the LEFT SIDE WE GO
THe left side was far more difficult then the Right. I am still not 100% happy with the location of the ballast but for now it will have to do.
LEFT SIDE ballast location
The ignitor tucked nicely underneath of the intake tube. I was someone hesitant at first but with some good double sided tape (included with the kit) and zip ties it mounted up very well and is not going to move around.
Everything back together and still no tell tale signs of an aftermarket light setup

Hope this post will be somewhat helpful for anyone planning a HID install in the near future. I'm very pleased with how things turned out and cannot wait to get out for my first night ride with the new lamps....of course when we finished the install it was pouring rain (go figure huh?).
I did briefly open the garage and lit up the great outdoors...seems pretty damn impressive from what I can tell. Hopefuly tomorrow night I will do some testing with my buds so I can see how well the lights are aimed as I obviously dont want to be blinding other motorists.
