most people on a 1000 dont even use its full potential and can in somecases be out ridden by a 600. i see it all the time

    Re: Does size really matter???

I have progressively gotten bigger bikes thru time but purely for the power. my 1st ride was a kawa- 250tripple. got it in 78 and wasn't allowed on it till I was 15  then in the 80's,I bought(and have been buying them myself since )  an 82yamaha TT500 which I threw on Blinkers and lights to make it Road legal.

then a  kawa Z900  followed of course by a Z1R.  in 88  I got me a suzuki  gixxer 7-11  member them?  but ended it up trading it for newer gixxer750.  had that till 93  then I got my 900RR which I still got  and lastly my 05-1000RR  which I most definitly still have.

and as I said purely for the power  never felt comfortable on any bike, they hurt like hell.  frame wise or sitting position wise never pay no mind to it, I'm a physicall Rider  and I pay the price.  but size of engine most definitly does matter  and my 1000RR has the power I'm hungry for.

    I've called my CBR's 1 and 2 this way if I loose 1, I've still got 2

I'm 6' 1" 190 or so myself.  The 07 600RR I bought was the only sport bike I sat on that felt comfortable.  The salesmen actually talked me out of a 1000, even when my friends were telling me I'd get bored with it in a month.  I'm pretty sure that if a sport bike, 600 or not, is running down the free way working too hard at 70-75 mph there's got to be something wrong with it.

The only reason I'd need to go any faster than this 600RR will take me is if I suddenly become an astronaut and decide to go to the moon.

I am 5 foot 10 165 pounds.I dont have any trouble riding a 600 to a 1000 .My last bike was a o4 cbr f4i it was fun but when i rode a passenger it just seemed to not cut it .The suspension sagged a bit ,the brakes definatly seemed like they needed an upgrade.Basically if you are tall or weigh 200 to 250 pounds I  would not suggest a 600cc bike. Most bikes are simiular in size but a larger cc bike is going to have beefier equipment.I hope this helps but realize this is my own opinion.

at 230lbs my F4i runs like a champ...hauls my big a$$ around at warp 9...

dont even try to compare a 600 to a 1000 as everything is different...liter bikes usually have a little bit stiffer suspension but the handling is the biggest difference...my F4i is like a switchblade...where 1000RR was like a big sword...more deadly but harder to swing...

    F4i for life...

That's some funny shite right there Rick.....LOL.  All of my friends that I started out with have either gotten out, or gone bigger.  I love my F4i.  My buddies 929 scares the shite out of me!  either it's stepping out the rear when going around  a corner, or the bars are wagging when the front end gets light.  I just find that my F4i still scares me, and makes me just laugh sometimes......

I'm with you.  I'm about 250 and my F4i is plenty fast for me.  Would like the opportunity to ride a liter bike but only because I would like the challenge of the bigger bike.  Love my F4i though, really do

    Re: Does size really matter???

I love my F3 i put an R6 shock on it to make it abit taller and fireblade forks the handleing stayed the same if not abit better than standard which i love,  +1 tooth on back, +4 degree ignition advancer,  K&N, dyno jet ect and i kick the *** out of my mate's on there liter and 12's ect around town you just cant beat it.

But there's allways a but i do want a bigger engine just for the motorways ect as when i get to top end i just get bored i need to know i've got another 20-30 mph and use it ever now and again but would defo keep me 6 for round town.

    Re: Does size really matter???

I'm 6'6" and 215.  I currently ride an F3, and I am perfectly comfortable on it.  I had the opportunity to ride a buddy's '07 1kRR a few weeks ago.  It was different, sure.. but after getting used to the different positioning, I was just fine.  I gotta say, though.. I bet I looked awkward as all get-out.

I could care less if I'm riding a 600, 750 or 1000.  I've never taken my bike to the limits of it's capabilities.  If you do, or know someone that does, give me a heads up as I never want to ride with them on the street.
