it's always better to ride with buddy. that way when you park you can just kryptonite cable your bike and his/hers. thats whay we do in seattle. no point in riding your bike somewhere to just get off of it and hang out (out of earshot)...

i have a pager alarm and a disc lock. Like 2 points that were said earlier, keeps honest people honest, and makes it harder than the other bike in the parking lot.

When I'm home, the bike is in the house, not a garage, not in a fence, in my living room. If someone really wants it then, they better bring some friends and some weapons, cause I'm gonna come running with my sword.

At the honda dealer where I get my bike serviced, they install Lo Jack for Motorcycles. While not a deterrent, you may be able to get an insurance discount for having it, and if it gets stolen, lo Jack can track it down.

ya they will track down your shell of a bike once its stripped down

My solution was my concealed carry license.  Came out of the mall one day...somebody's at my bike.  I pull my jacket backso the grip of the .45 is barely showin...walk up...stick the key in...dude looks up...looks at me...the grip...and books it.

DUDE!!! That rocks!  Wish my wife would let me do that.  Instead, we bought 2 dogs, installed motion detectors, a camera and an electric fence.  I do live in a pretty bad part of town.  My neighbor had rock through his drivers window one morning...and no more stereo...gps...change in the cupholder.
