    Re: Price at the pump

Hi Guys, I cant resist this thread seeing as I know I'll make all of you feel like you have it GOOD!

I ride a '99 F4, completely stock but in need of a tune up. I'm from just south of London, England.

I get between 35 and 49 miles per US gallon depending on how an where I ride.

When I last filled up (last night) it cost me £17.95 which is $31.47 according to xe.com for 15.09 litres which is 3.3 imperial gallons or 3.98 US gallons. Thats an equivalent price of $7.889 per US gallon.

    What do i win? :D

Yikes, 35mpg? I have an '01 F4i and average between 46-48mpg. Could the fuel injection make that much of a difference I wonder.

    stangmx135:
    04' 600RR
La Jolla, CA (expensive part of San Diego)
under 40mpg cuz im never on the freeway anymore
$4.59 last fill-up for regular cuz the cheaper gas stations r either too far away or they charge u extra for card transactions.

Wow, just saw Stang's message from two months ago and I can't believe gas has gone down so much in the La Jolla area. I know that at the Arco today, gas costs $3.53 a gallon. I just hope that gas doesn't start coming up again during the fall months. Grrrr.

    Hey oldman,

yeah, i know the injection makes a big differance, but i dont know exactly how much. also, my driving is 66% in town/city, the rest is highway. and i keep the revs over 6500/7000 most of the time. i guess all these things combined will get me 35.

That will do it. I previously had a Ducati v-twin and 5500 rpms was almost winding it out. I am STILL adjusting to the non-vtwin motor where 5K rpms is where the fun is just beginning. So I usually hang around 5K rpms, which is bringing in the cost savings per gallon.
