Ok, just wondering here. I'm looking for a battery for my 929. but the 125bucks comparied to 40 or 50 bucks for all most any other bike is buging me again ( cuss im cheap and broke). Ive been warned to stay clear of cheap ebay batteries made in china, cuss their crap. But in the process of doing research on it, I found a blogg in witch somebody mentioned the simaliar size of the 900 battery and that he got it from walmart and it worked fine for like 44 dollars.
This is to good to be true I thought, so I went to YUASA'S web site and did some research on my own. It's true, they are very colse to each other, with a couple exceptions. The 929 is a acid glass matt sealed battery, the 900 is more like a conventional lead acid type. 929 batt. has it/s A/h listed as 9 and the 900 is listed as 8.6 my bigest concernis that the 929 is rated at 190 cold cranking amps. And the 900 is only rated at 120 C.C.A.
So what i want to know is what is the real differnce(i.e. will it work). and is any body else using the 900 battery? I know the drill......YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THE FACTORY RECOMENDED BATTERY,THEY CHOOSE IT FOR THAT BIKE FOR A REASON.....BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.
I want more than a empty lecture here, if i'm going to spend 125 bucks. At least help me understand why. Or if the 900 battery works out and maybe just needs to be replaced a little more often (witch at less than half the price i can live with) than why not?
Any body with a strong understanding of batteries that can give me some insite here? Thanks in advance, by the way.
