    dropped my bike

came out this morning to go to work and found my F3 on its side......great start to a great day.......anyway, i haven't gotten around to puttin gon the flush mount kit and the signal light didn't bend the right way and the fairing snapped.  there is a decent sized chunk maybe slightly smaller than a dollar bill missout ont of it.  i was wondering if i could just super glue it back into place or if there was a better way. i don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars on a new fairing.

    Re: dropped my bike

The best thing to do is, if it will all fit back into place and fill in  the hole, to tape it all back to gether with masking tape as a brace on the out side, and then scuff the back side with heavy grit sandpaper, clean it with rubbing alcohol and epoxy it with a 2 part epoxy on the back side of the fairing. That way from a couple feet away it isnt noticable.  Later you can have a body shop repaint it and most of the repair work is done, they will just have to spot putty sand and shoot. And you can ride till then with out a big disgusting hole.

I wouldnt super glue it, super glue is usualy to brittle and dosent have the strength for this kind of repair.

if you're breaking out the epoxy, anyway, might as well lay a little fiberglass cloth on there too.

+1 to what socal said! epoxy is strong, but a little fiber glass with it and its darn near bullet proof.
