    More power

Just curious what some of you have done to get more power from your 600 hurricane? Yes I know its an older bike and only a 600. But I love the bike and just didnt know what all could be done to give it a little more? What exhaust are you guys running?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Travis

    Re: More power

unless u can find a full race exhaust and plan to rejet the carbs, dont expect any noticeable gain in power w/ any bolt on modification.

    Re: More power

Thats kinda what I figured. Can carbs or motors from other years be swapped in? Do motors from say an F2 fit in the hurricane frame?

    Re: More power

anything is possible w/ enough time and/or money... but i seriously doubt parts will go in easily.  Honda changed everything drastically going from the F1 to the F2.  so for example, even if u could get a set of F2 carbs on there, it prob wouldnt run correctly.  ud be much better of going w/ an F3 or newer if u really want more out of a motorcycle.

    Re: More power

Back in 94 when I raced, I rode my 88 Hurricane.

    Full Yoshi exhaust
Jetted to stage 3, with modified airbox and air intake hoses run through holes in frame and fairing.
    Ignition advanced
    sprockets and gearing changed

I Blew by f2's and the others-

Where did you get the Yosh exhaust? And how do you advance the ignition?

you could change the front sprocket by having 1 less tooth on cog. you will lose a little top speed but it will make the bikes aceleration better

    Re: More power

Where would I get different sprockets? I see some on ebay called "wheelie kits" do these work or help much? Do they actually help do wheelies? there is also a 520 kit that ups the rear sprocket up some teeth?

    Re: More power

The 520 kit would help with exceleration, but it would reduce your top speed. I have seen the wheelie kits on ebay to. I think that they are probably the same as the 520 kit.
