***SPOILERS*** Casey Stoner is pretty young, I guess

I really admire Stoner's guts, the way he rides.  But it looks like nerves get the best of him.  I'm thinking he is just not very experienced.

Stoner actually has quite a bit of experience. Take a look at his stats and you'll see just how long he has been racing, not to mention the various national championships. And he is a world champion. You don't get to be that with inexperience.

Well, I'm thinking about how he low-sided yesterday in Brno, and how he went too wide through a turn at Laguna Seca, a month ago.  In both of those races, Valentino Rossi didn't make any mistakes at all.

I haven't watched much motorcycle racing, until they started broadcasting MotoGP on CBS.  It just looks like Stoner isn't as smooth as some of the others.

I'll say that Rossi is more talented than Stoner, though Rossi sometimes makes mistakes too.  Stoner doesn't have much choice but to push things to the limit as Rossi is not going to cut him any slack.

It's amazing how much faster those two are than the other riders.

Stoner didn't go wide at Laguna in the last turn. He essentially outbraked himself, causing the crash. That was a stupid mistake on his part. The lowslide at Brno, without having the data from his technicians is tough to call what caused it.

But Rossi made a big mistake at Laguna. Guess you missed it? I have done the exact same thing and if you look closely you can see the metal grate just to his left. If he had hit that, he would never have finished the race.

OK, I remember Rossi going through the dirt.

Duc, what do you mean by Stoner"out braked" himself?  What is "out braked" ?  All I remember is I looked back at the TV, and Stoner was off the bike, in the pea gravel.  BTW, it is amazing that he still finished second.

^^^ He essentially went into the turn to hot, probably lost his brake point paying to much attention to where Rossi was, and hit the brakes a bit to hard. Realized where he was and couldn't make the turn. I've had something similar happen to me, but luckily saved it, barley. It only takes a split second in loss of concentration to realize you are turning in to late or to early to a turn, especially when you are right on someone's ass and have to pay attention to where their rear tire is and your front tire is going to be.

This is just speculation on my part, cause I don't know what Stoner was thinking or exactly what he was doing when he lost it.
