on a dual sport bike, would u say most cops if any would be able to tell right away if the knobby tires u have on are DOT approved or not?

and if the cop were to pull u over for something els, do they actualy take the time to check the tires?

depends on the cop....and how much he really wants to ticket you. If your minding your own business and not drawing any attention to you self it's kinda doubtful, but once you give him a reason......all bets are off!

I think it also depends on the area in which you are riding. I know that in my area, cops have alot more to worry about than a rider breaking a few silly laws. I think you will be fine with non DOT approved tires.

It all depends. An attitude can turn a warning into "pick the bike apart" night.

I have yet to see a sportbike in my area that is 100% compliant with state and DOT regs. One FTP comment can burn a lot of paper.
