honda cbr f2 intermittent won't start

my bike starts up fine with choke on in the morning but sometime while idling while warming up it start to bog down and idle drops. Start giving throttle and will rev up but bogs down. When it dies it wont start anymore with or without choke. Battery is good turns over fast. this problem occurs intermittent. the bike in the other hand runs great besides starting it up issue. Mechanic found it was a loose wiring on the pick up coil but after i got it back a few days later it started acting up again. How do i check if carbs are getting gas and any suggestions whats wrong with the bike.

I dont know how much experience you have with the bike...  Sometimes something as simple as choke position can cause this issue.  Do you start it on full choke?  Some bikes only "like" 70-80 % choke.  Like my Kawi, you would have to start it on full choke, but as soon as it starts I would have to descrease the choke a bit or it will flood and die.  Then after it warms up (may be 30 seconds) I would decrease it a bit again and it will actually rev higher while continuing to warm up.

a mechanic check the spark, gas in carb and its all there but still will not start. sprayed starter fluid on intake of carb and it started. He said its my valve are too tight causing the fuel starvation to motor. So i'm hoping this is it coz its costing me more money for this intermittent problem. Let me know if there's something else that might do this. I was thinking its the float adjustment. "not enough"will this coz my bike to not start. Its not flooding but not giving enough gas to start the bike.

F2 floats aren't adjustable anyways...maybe you just need new plugs....is the bike stock? Oh yeah, personally, I wouldn't even used the choke, you just have to hold the throttle for a little bit anyways...I was reading something another guy posted, I can't seem to remember his name, but he has the world record F2...he said that from something like 1 minute of choke it takes 30 miles of riding to burn off the excess carbon deposits. But yeah, before you blow a crap load of money having someone do you valves, I'd start with the plugs, and a carb clean.

i kinda have this same problem sometimes....i thought it was normal for old hondas...I just give it throttle if the my chock doesnt work at all, and do it a couple of times until it finally doesnt turn off.

this problem is often fixed by playing with the choke position. but I've noticed that it also happens when there's an electrical problem on the bike.

i wouldnt recommend the using the throttle bc it adds way too much wear and tear to the bike when warming up, at least i've heard.
