    Thinking of buying faring replacements:

Been thinking of getting new farings for my 1997 CBR 600 F3, just to have two options of looks for the bike.  Being new to it all, I wanted some more experienced thoughts on the following:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=180367616682

I was going to get an unpainted set and basically get my buddy (does custom paint) to give me almost the exact same look, but even an unpainted set on Ebay runs $500.

Anyways, looking for comments and suggestions if this is a good/bad deal or perhaps other sites/publications to look for full faring sets.

    Mike

theres a reason y the whole set is only 500$ including the massive shipping charge from Hong Kong.... ive touched the same set made for an F3, just in a different color and tried to mount it. if you are good w/ a dremel and wont mind a few zip-ties and odd fitting lines, go for it. but itll only look good 25ft away or farther.

theres really nothing better than stock.. ie OEM fairings. ebay and craigslist are your friend. in the long run, this route may actually be cheaper than any other option if u can manage to find parts that match.

in the hands of a good painter, quite a few options can look good. i always wanted my old F2 to look like this:

of course, unpainted race bodywork, proper mounting, and a great paintjob will cost u more than OE fairings off of ebay... even if u buy the cheap fairings.
