Hey man. you need to add that the 98-99 900rr thermostat fits the f3 and works with the f4i guages.
BTW nice work on the write up!

Got mine put on today...took a total of about 2 1/2 hours start to finish including thinking up a way to mount the gauges. I ended up using a piece of Lexan, cut in a rectangle big enough to fit over the 3 mounting holes on the bike. The screwed the gauges to the Lexan, and bolted it to the bike....pretty ghetto, but it works, and looks pretty cool, since it's clear, I can see all the wires and crap behind and have plenty of room to mount other switchs/ indicators later.
One question, do the F4i gauges have a light for the side stand? On the top, there is a red light to the left of the neutral light that stays on, but I'm assuming this is for the temp? Still haven't gotten around to ordering the new temp sensor, but that will come soon.

Hi everyone have just joined the site, living in the UK, have done the swap after coming across this forum, and am well happy, just to add my bit, yes the red light to the left is for the hi temp, as for the clock back lights being on all the time, mine come on with the lights, but if im right the USA models have the lights on all the time, as for the green wires does it matter which one go's to earth with the pink wire? And the thermostat from a 900rr is it the sender that is needed or the whole thing?
cheers

I would assume that you would be able to do the swap then...what gauges do you have on it now? The reason that the F4i gauges won't fit an F2 but they will an F3 is because the F2 uses mechanical things for the speedo/tach, while the F3 and F4i both use electrical.
