High rev after i shifted, any ideas?

Ok so yesterday i left my lights on and my battery died. I push started it and rode for about 15min. On the way back home i pulled out from a red light and was shifting without the clutch like i normally do. But when i shifted into 6th(i pretty sure it was 6th but could have been 5th) i got back on the gas for about a second or so and was at around 6k rpms then the but jumped to about 13k rpms all of asudden like it was in neutral then back down to around 6k and started going fun again.

I rode it around for another 5-10min to see if i could repeat the issue but it didnt happen. Any ideas what may have caused this. Or is it possible it slipped inbetween the gears for a second then poped back in place?

You hit what is called a false neutral.   Essentially, you shifted and missed.  Its no big deal.  Forget about it and ride on.

If it happens all the time it can be an issue, otherwise DW
