That must have cost a fortune to turn a Hurricane into that.  It looks sick.  Can't even tell its a Hurricane.

    Re: 600f high mount

Not really, it was fairly cheap.

$400 - Old almost abandoned Hurricane
$0 - I offered my racing fairings from my F4i (then converted to street and sold)
$160 - Used exhaust plus some piece of tube and soldering.
    $150 - Used steering damper
    $150 - Rearsets

Then the usual little carbon bits, black and red paint, forks oil, brake pads, chain and sprockets.

But the mechanic that prepares it did spend a lot of hours playing and tinkering with it. Now he has another one which is much more prepared that the one above (which he also keeps). The new one has my old racing RR plastics, and an exhaust that looks like taken from an RCV 511 V Smile

I found a hurricane with a high mount... (not saying admins pics were not a hurricane, but this is a "stock" hurricane:P)'

I have had enough with dreaming about having a hi amount exhaust, I am determined to make my own. Tomorrow I think im gonna get a hack saw and a drill and start taking parts off and putting diff ones on to get something to work.

That could look cool if the footpeg brackets where shortened. Looks like he just angled the pipe upwards on the footpeg mount and had a connecting tube bent to fit.  The angles look all wrong.  Let us know (with pictures!) how yours turns out, corpsegrinder.

    Re: 600f high mount

ok so I removed the footpeg brackets, along with the chaingaurd, and some other things...I also went ahead and moved the turn signals back a bit onto the same plastic piece the license place is held onto and I got my slip on to become a high mount, I think it looks real good. I road it to work today it seems to me like its louder now, maybe becuase its aimed more upward or maybe its just in my head, but it looks pretty sweet. only problem ive ran into is my right turn signal is like 4 inches directly behind the end of the exhaust and after riding it around I noticed my turn signal is starting to eh... melt?.... haha.. well I think ill do an undertail adventure and play around with it, I dont have too much time on my hands but ill make the best of it. Pictures to come soon!

Say just outta curiousity, how does the vance and hines sound on an F1? I just bought an 86 Yamaha FZ750 with a v&h pipe and it blows my mind when I wind it up! I believe the pipe on the FZ is the supersport model... is this the same one you have on your bike? Thinking about throwing one of these on my F1 as well.

That's pretty cool.  Can you post some pics with a bit of detail on how you mounted the pipe?  Who did the pipe bending for the new connector pipe?

I personally think it sounds great. Not very loud, but the sound is much better than stock. I chose teh vance and hines over D &D because I didnt want to attract attention to myself since my buddy put a d & d on his katana and got pulled over the next day for too loud of exhaust. Oh and its a ss2-r

ill take some more pics in the next few days, but I actually used the same slip on as I had on before, same pipe same everthing, only thing I did was take off the foot peg brackets and moved the turn signals to make room.... then I turned the pipe connecting the muffler to the headers 90 degrees or so making it point directly upright. After that it was all about finding something to use as a bracket. I found a piece of scrap metal.. drilled some holes into it, mounted it to where the old footpeg brackets went, and to the pipe.

    Re: 600f high mount

Those mounts looked pretty clean especially the last bike on the list.

But what I was wondering about was the seat that bike had on it.  I wonder if he just got a seat from a newer cbr and put the seat on his 89.  If it's a kit I'd like to know where i could buy it.

    Re: 600f high mount

It looks like he may have used a Ducati tail. I doubt that they have a kit to do this.

It would be nice if some company would put together a kit to update the styling.
