    dustin2275's Hurricane

hey here are the only pics i have right now...and the list of mods to match; just about every bolt has been drilled/wire tied, front end was lowered 1.5 inches, racetech front fork springs, i rebuilt the forks with new fork seals and a heavy 12weight fork oil, new carbon fiber lookalike levers and bar-ends, i removed all the guage surrounding plastics and the black cover over the guages to save weight, both side fairings were replaced with maier plastics...maier plastics are 1 peice instead of 2 and alot lighter(more weight savings), extended frame sliders(4 inch) for a cbr900 or something like that and then used a hole saw to make a hole in the side fairings for them, i removed the front halves of the very bottom fairing stay brackets next to the exhaust to save weight, mini lockhart phillips F1 racing mirrors, installed a sunpro black/red voltmeter guage to keep an eye on my stator, black windscreen, aluminum racing footpegs, custom topless airbox, modified stage 2 jetting from dynojet, performance clutch disks and springs, vance and hines ignition advance rotor, full d&d ceramic coated exhaust with a carbon fiber canister, custom seat is being made right now, carbon fiber solo seat cowl, very nice fox racing rear shock with hugeass resevior, cbr600rr tail that was all broken so i glassed it all up and painted it, clear LED 600rr rear light with integrated turn signals, front turn signals were removed and three LEDs were placed in each side of fairing as turnsignals (saving more weight even if its not much), everything behind battery box was removed from frame...ecu placed in batter box and brake resevior right next to batter box and then all brackets were cut and smoothed out to save more weight, no passenger footpegs or any of that junk, all mounting brackets for tail were made from aluminum or from 1/4" plastic sheeting, 14tooth front sprocket and 46tooth aluminum rear sprocket, and rear master cylinder rebuild kit

88' CBR 600 F1 Hurricane, -1 in the front, k & n air filter, vance & hines high mount, lots of zip ties

    Great work!!

I'm about to put similar frame sliders on, I only got the 3.5 inch long sliders though.

You couldn't tell me what new bolt size i need to get? (M10 x ??)

I understand the bolts that come with the sliders are about 1.5cm too short

    Thanks

im not sure of the exact size....i took the frame slider bolt to the local hardware store(lowes) and got one that was about an inch longer and everything worked out just fine !

    Re: dustin2275's Hurricane

When I mocked up my 600rr tail/tail light, I noticed that was pretty flat, making the LED's in the tail light not very visible. Did you do anything to correct this?

    Re: dustin2275's Hurricane

actually i thought the same thing....but my friend who was driving behind me said he could see the lights from his car very well...my bike has also been lowered 1.5 inches in the front making the rear stick up a little higher and i have a fox racing shock that i need to install that will allow me to raise the rear an inch or so too....there isnt really too much you can do without hacking up and relocating the tail section of the frame.
