    Need some guidance...

Hello Ladies.  Well, I don't have a bike and that is why I'm here.  The summer I planned on getting a bike, I ended up pregnant and gave up the dream.  Now, 6 years later, my husband is going to get one, but I would like to be able to learn on it and ride on my own eventually.  That is where my question starts.

What would you suggest as a good first bike?  My husband is pretty novice too (I think), and our budget is kinda small.  It doesn't have to be a Honda, I just have always heard good things about CBRs and thought I would start here.  I was thinking a 600 and a 600 f4i was a suggestion I have gotten in the past.  Any assistance given would be great!  Thank you! ~Amanda

Budget is about $3200.  Kinda thinking an F3... but I'm pretty open to ideas.

    Re: Need some guidance...

I just bought my first bike...i've never driven one before...and i'm just getting my license this weekend...when i was looking my boyfriend knew a lot so he was a great help...but i am a girl and i can be set in my ways...i've always loved the look of the 600rr...then i sat on one and loved it even more...just by luck one day we found a f2...had basically the same look...at a great price...and i guess it is a great starter bike.  It isn't too light so i won't get pushed around on the highway and it has enough power that i won't get obored once i become a better rider.  (That's what they tell me anyway)  The only think i do know is that with the f2-f3 and f4s the older they are the harder it is to find certain parts for them...at a good price.  Make sure you keep that in mind.

I bought my 2000 F4 last spring for $3700 . . . so I would think that now you could find one closer to your price range. If you can wait or if you don't find anything . . . if you buy in the winter months you can find some really great deals.
