    where you read about 8K on diablos?

    rarely...mean/median and average is all at 4500 to 5K.

    i know these tires like the back of my hand...my last 5 sets have been diablos.

    I agree the diablos are a great tire but they don't have the life span that I am looking for.

    I have the Metzler Roadtech Z6.  The center of the tire is a harder compound so it wears less when touring and the sides of the tire are a softer compound for better grip when turning.  So far so good.
