    Try this

It is not bad looking but the open space between the headlamps seems a little odd.  I know the other bikes have seem to gone to that style (i.e. kawi, and yamaha).  I am sure I will get used to it but it looks a little odd at the first time seeing it.

I am kind of particular to the red/black scheme though.

It's the only way to get the full ram air effect to maximize engine performance. Once Yamaha was able to show what a 600 could do with that configuration, you knew everyone else would follow suit. But the way Honda and Kawi made the intake look is very boring! I like the Predator look of the R6. The R6 just looks mean! But asthetics aside, the Honda has performed amazing on the track!

    Re: First sightings and impressions

I have not had a chance to sit on the new CBR or anything as of yet.

But compared to my Kawi, I can put my feet flat on the ground on my bike, the 2006 Honda CBR 600, I was not able to touch both feet flat, so it was a little higher than what I was used to.  Does anyone know if the new CBR has an improved (comfortable/softer) seat or is it still the same as last years?

I rode a friends 2006 R6 and the ergos seemed very foreign to me.  It was very powerful and it made me squeal like a little girl all with a large grin the entire time.  One thing that seemed odd to me is the R6 felt like clip ons were mounted on the front axle.  It just felt like the seat was very high and the clip ons felt very low.

I also rode my brother's 02 F4i which felt comfortable (except for the seat...hard).  Very nice and sounded great with the pipe he had on it.

    Okay enough rambling.

    Re: First sightings and impressions

^^^^  Remember, the 06 R6 was built specifically as a race bike. Not a street and capable race bike when set up, but a race bike right out of the crate. If you look at the rear axel, front axel and swingarm pivot, and draw a line from the front axel to the rear, you'll notice a straight line. The exhaust assembly is low, to keep the COG low. The rear is raised and the clip on lowered to give front end feel for the turns, but the swingarm was extended to keep the bike stable on the fast straights. The fly-by-wire throttle was used on purpose as a basic form of traction control and anti-wheelie control.

The F4i by comparison is a lounge chair. But I still prefer the R6 seat to the F4i or even 600RR seats.

The new 600RR is thinner in the middle, so you may be able to touch now.

    Re: First sightings and impressions

    Hi

    nice forum,my first post

does anyone knows if the plug &play loom for Acumen digital display gear DG8 for the year 06 or 05 fits cbr600rr 2007?

I've asked Acumen and here's their response:

(We only list what we have tried and we haven't tried an 07 yet, to be
    honest
though I suspect that customers would have told us by now that the 07
    is
different to the 06! So I guess it's the same.)

not much!! information, any help would be appreciated.

    thanks
