What are you paying to insure the 1000RR? I got quoted 3300 per year =(

I have 13 years riding exp, taken the MSF course, I'm married, and  35 years old.

I was quoted 3300 per year for the 1000 RR.

I'm wondering if the quote is on par with most, or if it's considerably off.

    Thanks much.

i don't have a liter bike, but i can tell you that you're getting a lube job. that's a rip off, something an 18 year old would be getting on a new 600.

that said, i have recieved quotes before on a 996, 998, rc-51 and a r1. none of them, NONE of them, were even close to yours. i think it was like $700/year with a 50,/100k coverage.

i'm the same age as you, with probably 1 ticket showing as traffic school on my public record.

Progressive (which is usually pricey) insures mine for $1300 per year.  I'm 52, been riding for a long time, no tickets, accidents, etc.  This is for full coverage but no towing.  100/300K liability, $1000 deductable on comp and collision.

damn, you all getting screwed. I am 30, 2 tickets (just recenetly so they may or may not know). Just bought a 2006 1000rr and i am paying 243.00 every 6 months. that is 500/1000 deductiable. Not sure what the rest of it is.

This is thru state farm which has the best rates out of everyone i have checked.

Fellas, I live up here in NYC and got quoted for 650.00 for the year liability only for my 2002 954rr and that was when i had my permit.  If i had my motorcycle license it would have been like 3 something.  My friend pays 150.00 a yr for his 98 ninja.  I actually called Geico and they quoted me at like 2500.00 for the year liability only.

That's a definate BOHICA (Bend Over Here It Comes Again).  Check out State Farm.  They don't reclass "sportbike", only age, years riding, engine displacement.  I just (2 weeks ago) got a great deal on a 06 1000RR & insurance was the deciding factor between the 1000 or another 600.  I'm 41, married & most places I quoted were $1300 to $1900 per year.  A liter bike was out.  Then I checked State Farm:  $418 a year with medical and underinsured.

Don't forget that also your credit score plays a part in Ins also. The location where one lives also plays a part in how much you will pay.

Re: What are you paying to insure the 1000RR? I got quoted 3300 per year =(

I was with GMAC $640.00 a year until I hit a pothole that damaged my rear rim and tire it was $1,200. claim so they increased my rates to $1,280. a year so I dropped them and went with GEICO $760.00 a year full coverage. If you are under the age of 30 and have any moving violations or accidents on your record, your screwed.and if your paying any child support then your really screwed

$1252/yr Full Coverage from Progressive.  I would normally use bike-line.com but they wont insure liter bikes! :(

I'm 28, live in N. CO, have the MSF (doesn't help w/ my insurance), & 1 at fault accident that still shows.  I have it so I have the highest coverage & least out of pocket expense if something happens.  I pay $420 per year ($35 pr month), $100 comp & collision deductible, $250/500 (if I remember right) for liability through State Farm.  I've gotten quotes from several others & have been quoted anywhere from $70-233 per month.

Re: What are you paying to insure the 1000RR? I got quoted 3300 per year =(

i was given quotes anywhere from 2300 to 2500 a year for full coverage with a 1000.00 comp/collision deductable and NO medicle ins (i have my own). got those quotes from progressive, allstate, AAA, ect.

im paying 680.00 a year for the same coverage thru state farm.  now, if i switch my auto coverage to state farm, my bike policy will drop to 480.00 a yr. :)

oh, i have 1 ticket in my cage for crossing a yellow to get into a turn lane too soon. lol. im 30 and no other claims or tickets EVER!!!!
