The 04 CBR 1000RR is great bike to ride although it is around 30 pounds heavier than most new sport bike’s. I’ve had mine since July of 2004 it is a manageable bike to ride but it does have an abrupt throttle response that takes a little getting use to. The one and only problem I did have, the stator burned out at around 15K miles. Other than that it holds its own on the track, it is not supper fast compared to any new sport bike but its fun to ride……….and yes it is easy to wheelie, 1ST, 2ND. 3RD gear no problem, if you miss a gear accelerating hard the front end comes up flawlessly

    Re: 04 CBR1000

You'll be happy with the performance of the 05 and the exta weight does give it more stability and you can get more aggressive accelerating exiting a turn, although I would not recommend it but with the electronic dampeing you could take one hand off the bars going around a wide sweeping bend at 70 to 80 mpr. and the bike remains solid....there are some tweaks you can do to the suspession because thats what it is all about, horsepower doesn't mean anything on the track. and as far as braking..... vary controllable. The bike is vary manageable to ride other than what I had mentioned earlier about the abrupt throttle responce but again that would apply to all liter bikes with electronic fuel injection you have to remember to allways keep a firm hold because if you don't ...it will wake you up...

A very user friendly bike.  You'll definitely like it.
