Cool Cop - watching out for scooter riders

So I'm out getting lunch on my kewl looking, hard to find another yellow one Zuma... Big Smile bright and sunny outside, slight wind but in the upper 60s.

Passed an offramp from the freeway... guy sees me but still cuts me off anyway. Decelerating to a stoplight, not a big deal even if it's just 1.5 scooter length space he gave me. Cop on the hotel driveway in his usual spot for speeders (since it's a fairly long straight in between stoplights and it's easy to be doing over 40 or even 50mph.)

Cop pulls out of hotel driveway and I move back to give him space since it's probably better he cuts in while in front of me to get to the lanes (i'm on the far right, by the way). I nod to let him know come thru as I'm backing up a little since I have space behind me.

He says "I'll take care of it for ya." Turns on the lighs, and I hear bleep bleep as he pulls the guy who cuts me off. Didn't see speeding or anything since my scooter can barely make 40 at times. Registration seemed OK. All I think of is he cut me off within clear vicinity of the cop.

Hats off the to the guy. I waved thanks. On the way back, he's coming back from the street where the guy pulled over.. Waved thanks to him again. Stick out tongue

Of course, there has to be balance in the universe. So in return of my good luck, I lose the two Netflix envelopes/DVDs in the basket since they flew away. I thought they were heavy enough they won't but two trips up and down the street, I cannot find them. Really strange they're not on the street unless someone picked them up (low traffic on sidewalks too).

That's actually a really cool story (except the part about actually riding a scooter, LOL:) )

I don't think I've ever seen a cop do something like that.  That shows me that there is some good left in the world.

I got passed by a bike cop the other day.  I was doing a good 20 over...NEVER saw him till he was beside me.  Pretty much the same story.  Ridin to work, guy decided he wanted to be in the left lane even though there was NO ONE in front of him.  I was already in the left lane going for a pass when he just whips it over.  I bank over into the right lane, drop it down into 3rd and buzz his mirror.  I slow back down once the road rage fades, and the guy speeds up and passes me.  Well here comes this bike cop...waves as he passes...and then blue lighted him.  I thought for sure he was going to point me to the shoulder...biker friendly cops are pretty rare.  We get pulled over all the time here.  3 of us were sitting around in the WalMart parking lot...2 cops...guess we were being too rowdy and obnoxious all the way in the corner deciding where to ride.

yeah... bike friendly cops are a little rare, i think. i'm on a road heavily frequented by riders because i'm at the mouth of the opening to twisties here. i'm sure many get annoyed with the bikes with their loud exhausts, but oddly, many riders are tame on speeds on the street leading to the twisties. maybe they know our street is heavily policed for speeders (and it is heavily policed!).

nothing to be ashamed at my scooter. it looks fast! anyone that picks on it, i throw the "i get 75miles to the tank and that's not even the full tank used up yet!" bwaahahahahaha

Yeah, I was just messing with you about the scooter.  Those things look like they may be fun though.
