    CBR's Value

Is it just me or do CBR's hold their value longer and higher than
pretty much any other make and models.

    Re: CBR's Value

Actually it is mentality of cbr owners who think their 10 old years F3 is worth 70% of price of newest RR

    Re: CBR's Value

value is just merely a perception.  A bike is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.  That willingness can vary based on market conditions, knowledge of the seller (or lack thereof), and basic laws of supply and demand.

    Re: CBR's Value

If you go by NADA and KBB on Jap bikes, yes.  They do.  When I was doing the research on what bikes I could afford to buy, Honda was almost always the most expensive when compared against other brands of the same year.  Without looking, I'd say that old used hondas from early to mid '90s were usually $500-700 more than suzuki 600s of equal years.  Pretty much what I found was that on paper, suzuki was the cheapest option by NADA guidelines... then I think it went Kawi, yami, honda.  Kawi and yami may be reversed, though.

but again, this is all on paper.  It all depends on who is selling, who is buying, and how much knowlege each party has.

    Re: CBR's Value

You poking fun at my 10 year old CBR 600 F3?! Since it is what I can afford and what I do ride everyday, I suppose it is worth more to me than the brand spanking new CBR 600 RR I lust after.

It may not be as zoot as my friend's newer bikes... but it's mine and I enjoy it. Plus my insurance is a ALOT cheaper.

    Re: CBR's Value

I found the same to be true.

Then again they seem to have better build quality and are usually rarer which helps raise the value per say
